Over the years, Elisa Lee has grown into a high-end jewelry brand that stands for sustainability and connection. Around forty collections tell the story of the EL label and how it evolved over the years: from minimalist, refined lines and color to flowing, organic shapes from nature.

In our atelier, we choose quality and innovation. Centuries-old crafts such as glassblowing, goldsmithing, cutting, and diamond setting go hand in hand with contemporary techniques such as digital drawing and parametric design.

Since 2009, the Elisa Lee atelier has been located in an old soap factory in Ronse. There, a team of around twenty people with a passion for the craft works. In 2026, we opened a smaller, second atelier in Ghent, allowing us to offer even more custom-made products there. We deliberately choose to keep our entire production in Belgium: every piece of jewellery is handmade in our own ateliers. Our partners are also local, from all over Flanders and Antwerp.

This commitment to ethical and local working also gives us flexibility. We can respond quickly to orders and repairs and offer a personal, in-depth service. Elisa Lee carries the Handmade in Belgium (HIB) label, which recognises authentic, handcrafted quality products. We are also proud to be a premium partner of House of Weddings. This reflects our commitment to an honest way of making, with a focus on quality.

As an archaeologist, Elisabeth was always fascinated by what previous generations left behind. Jewelry is the finest example of this: you pass it down, and each piece carries a story. Elisa Lee is also a story of generations. Grandpa Michiel Leenknegt founded the Leenknegt art studio, father Jan carried it on, and today Elisabeth brings that creative tradition to the world of jewelry.

We want to bring beauty to everything we do: in our jewelry, in how we make it, and in how we interact with people. That is why we have been working locally and circularly for more than twenty years, with materials that are already in circulation. For years, we planted a native tree or shrub for every piece of jewelry sold. This is how our own food forest grew. And we renovated our store in Ghent, the historic goldsmiths' guild house dating back to 1481, with great respect for the past.

Why have we been walking this path for so long? The answer is simple: love is the way.

At atelier Elisa Lee, we look out for one another. We support each other and distribute the work based on everyone's talents. We invest in training, sports such as Pilates and yoga, healthy eating, and personal growth, so that everyone can continue to learn. Atelier EL uses only the purest materials: gold, silver, diamonds, carefully selected gemstones, pearls and glass. We work exclusively with suppliers who can guarantee that their metals and gemstones come from mines where the environment, safety and good working conditions are paramount and where no child labour takes place.

Wherever possible, we use recycled gold and preloved diamonds. Upcycling is always less harmful to the environment, and by reworking jewellery, you also carry a story forward for generations. Cradle-to-cradle design is deeply woven into the DNA of our atelier. Furthermore, we primarily work to order to avoid surpluses and reduce stock.

As an archaeologist, Elisabeth has always been fascinated by what preceding cultures and generations have left behind. Jewelry passed down to future generations is not only among the most personal and precious items; each piece tells its own story, and that piece of history is cherished time and again.

Atelier Leenknegt—itself a story spanning generations—was founded by grandfather Michiel Leenknegt, then taken over by father Jan, and today Elisabeth runs it under the name Elisa Lee. Throughout the years, we have consistently chosen craftsmanship, innovation, sustainable materials, and aesthetics.

Atelier EL was born out of a love for craftsmanship. The journey began in 2002 when Elisabeth Leenknegt, a third-generation glass artist, found inspiration in the glassware of the classical Romans. Over the years, Elisa Lee grew into a high-end jewelry label, but our mission has never changed: unparalleled craftsmanship, care for the planet and for one another.
